about me

My journey into photography is not like most. I had no idea that I wanted to be a photographer, until I was in my last semester of graduate school studying Healthcare Administration. While I was so focused on climbing the corporate ladder and honing in on my career goals, all the while God's plan was leading me to this assignment.

I'm a Raleigh photographer, believer, and wife to my middle school sweatheart*.

My creative journey started during my last semester of graduate school. After photographing my sister's family photos, something just clicked for me! Being behind the camera resonated with my creativity, passion for creating lasting memories, and need to use my gifts for the benefit of others.

In finding my way into the photography space, I was blessed to work with great photographers who provided a wealth of knowledge and encouraged me to do work that resonates with me. I credit their advice for helping me identify the two types of audiences I love working with — families and seniors!

How It Started: Finding My Way

Tiara Hargrove Photography is going on 5+ years of business! I've worked with more than 150 families + seniors in the Triangle, and received features in 3 magazines. As I remain faithful to God's plan, this assignment continuously changes and becomes bigger than anything I could've imagined.

How It Started vs
How It's Going

I recently married my best friend, who I met in middle school (or at least that's how my husband would tell it). We went to the same middle school but didn't meet until almost a decade later. We love to explore the Triangle and surrounding areas — which is how I find such great locations for photo sessions!

I'm a plant enthusiast, and it's not uncommon for you to see a few (or all) of our plant babies on my social accounts. Fun fact: they're all named after Disney characters!
